HIGHLIGHTS:
St. John New of Suceava Sarcophagus (Relics)
Completed in 1522, the monastery acted as a mitropolite residence for over a century. The church still shows traces of the once many frescoes on the Southern wall. On the inside, the iconostasis was set in Moldavian Baroque style, outstanding through its grandeur, impressive ornments and rich colour scheme.
During the 1898-1910 restauration process (when Bukovina was under Austrian rule), the church was covered with colourful glazed tiles which add to its picturesqueness.
